Care Instructions
Good care helps preserve the appearance of wall art for longer. The right method depends on whether you own a canvas print, a hand-painted painting, a framed work on paper or decorative wall plates.
General care for paintings and wall art
- Keep artwork away from persistent direct sunlight where possible.
- Avoid high humidity, water splash zones and heat sources unless the product is specifically suitable for them.
- Do not spray household cleaner directly onto an artwork.
- Handle framed or painted surfaces with clean, dry hands.
- Use wall fixings appropriate to the artwork’s finished weight.

Dust lightly with a clean, soft, dry cloth or very soft brush. Do not soak the canvas or use abrasive cleaners. If an artwork is stretched on a frame, lift it using the frame structure rather than pressing fingers into the front surface.
Hand-painted paintings
Painted surfaces can have raised texture and delicate brushwork. Avoid rubbing. For valuable or heavily textured works, professional art-conservation advice may be appropriate if cleaning beyond light dusting is required.
Art posters and framed paper works
Keep paper art dry and avoid prolonged ultraviolet exposure. When cleaning a glazed frame, apply cleaner to the cloth rather than directly to the glazing so liquid cannot run into the frame.
Decorative wall plates
Use a secure hanging system appropriate to the plate’s material and weight. Remove plates carefully for cleaning and follow the product-specific care instructions. Decorative products should not be assumed to be food-safe unless the product description explicitly says so.
Storage
If artwork needs to be stored, use a clean, dry area with stable conditions. Avoid placing heavy items against the painted or printed surface and keep protective materials clean and non-abrasive.
